Kim Cattrall Agreed to Appear in ‘And Just Like That…’ on Two Conditions
You may not believe it, but it’s happening — Kim Cattrall is set to reprise her role as everyone’s favorite character Samantha Jones in the second season of And Just Like That…, and fans are freaking out. According to reliable sources, Cattrall agreed to slip into Samantha’s shoes for the upcoming season on two main (and unsurprising!) conditions.
And Just Like That… Featuring Samantha Jones
Before you get too excited about the endless possibilities of Samantha making a dramatic entry to the Sex and the City spin-off, there’s something you should know. While we may all want as much screen time with the four girls, we likely won’t get that.
Cattrall is allegedly set to appear in just one scene of the season two finale. And that’s not all! Her comeback will not only be brief, but it will also not feature her sharing a scene with any of the other main characters. Not directly, at least. Sources say that Cattrall’s scene will feature a phone call between Carrie and Samantha that was filmed this March in New York City. This is probably a result of Cattrall’s strict conditions for participating in the project.
The Two Main Conditions
Unsurprisingly, Cattrall’s conditions were related to And Just Like That…’s showrunner and her former co-stars. Sources claim that Cattrall agreed to appear on the show only if she didn’t have to shoot a scene with her former co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. Ouch!
Her second condition was that Michael Patrick King wasn’t on set while she was filming. It’s still unclear why Cattrall wouldn’t want the showrunner anywhere in sight while she was on set, and we may never find out. However, one thing is certain — Cattrall’s comeback as Samantha Jones “will not be a continuation of the character for now,” according to reports.
