After all, the sequel, Finding Dory, is all about her character. Ellen could not be a more perfect fit for Dory, who lends comedic value to the heartwarming film. Ellen is known for her humor and generosity to both her celebrity guests and fans, making her one of the most-well known talk hosts in the world.

John Travolta is well-known for his musical talents on-screen having starred in the legendary Grease and Hairspray, as well as, many more iconic films. While fans are used to seeing Travolta showing off his dance moves, in 2008, he took on the starring role as a furry animal. The title character of a canine superstar named Bolt is a far cry away from many of John Travolta’s films, but the film was nominated for an Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards.

It is every young girl’s dream to become a Royal Princess, and Cameron Diaz finally got her wish in 2001. While this did not mean rubbing shoulders with the Queen of England, Diaz was cast to play Princess Fiona in the animation hit, Shrek. In a twist of events, this Princess turns into an ogre. While she does not fall in love with a Prince, she does find her Prince Charming in Shrek and, just like every fairytale dream, the couple lives happily ever after.

He is a silver fox in real-life, and George Clooney is also the face behind the animation character, Mr. Fox. While this casting decision seems appropriately fitting, the actor is, in fact, playing the title role of the furry animal in the film, Fantastic Mr. Fox. This role certainly differs to his action character of Dapper Danny Ocean in the Oceans Eleven franchise or Dr. Doug Ross in E.R., but it seems that anything Clooney touches turns to Gold, with the film getting a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Actor Robin Williams sadly passed away in 2014, but his resume was filled with comedic roles and stand-ups that were second to none before he died. The Mrs. Doubtfire lead character was the voice behind the lovable Genie in the first of Walt Disney Picture’s animated feature film, Aladdin, a character no one could forget. Just like all of Williams’ roles, his character was humorous, energetic, and would bring life to the film, just as the Genie did with his magical oil lamp.

Perhaps when Angelina Jolie expanded her brood with six children, she wanted to show off her acting talents to her offspring. How else better to do so than star in a children’s animation film such as Kung Fu Panda? While some of her children may have watched their parents star and fall in love on the movie, Mr & Mrs. Smith, it seems that Kung Fu Panda is more children appropriate for her youngsters. Most likely, Jolie prefers watching this franchise with them too!

Mike Myers is best known for Wayne’s World or getting into the character of Austin Powers. Just like his on-screen character proved in the latter, Mike Myers is capable of doing anything! That is perhaps why producers of the film, Shrek, chose Myers to voice the green, Scottish ogre in their animated production. The film was such a success that Myers was brought back for the trilogy of the film, as well as, Shrek The Halls and, the final movie, Shrek Forever After, in 2010.

Another favorite from The Lion King is, of course, Zazu. Serving as the majordomo to Mufasa, Scar, and later Simba, Zuzu is often under strain from following Simba when he was just a young cub. Mufasa relied on Zazu to follow Simba at all times, and Rowan Atkinson lent his voice for this role. The Mr. Bean star is, in fact, the face behind the red-billed hornbill who was later appointed the royal advisor by Mufasa and took on his new role very seriously.

There is a reason Meryl Streep has been nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards, and that is because most works the actress touches, turns to gold. From The Deer Hunter to Sophie’s Choice and, of course, The Devil Wears Prada, Streep is part of some of the most iconic films in history. While fans are used to watching the talented actress on-screen, she has also lent her voice for the role of Mrs. Fox in the animation Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Helena Bonham Carter was married to Tim Burton from 2001 to 2014, so it is unsurprising he cast his ex-wife in some of the films he has written, produced or directed. However, Helena Bonham Carter is a talent in her own right and has always been a worthy casting to all movies she has featured in. Meanwhile, just as her ex-husband would cast Helena to play a character on-screen, he also chose her to voice the role of Emily in Corpse Bride.

Fans are used to see Ben Stiller take on role after role in some comedic fashion, always bringing humor and laughs to the theatre. Once again, he managed to do just that when he lent his voice for the lead role of Alex the Lion in the Madagascar movie franchise. The Zoolander star has had his fair share of interactions with animals on-screen, but on becoming one himself, he proved he was a versatile actor who could do just about anything!

Danny DeVito may have been Mr. Nasty when he played Mathilda’s father in 1996, but he took on the role of Philoctetes – ‘Phil’ for short – in the film Hercules just one year later. This time around, DeVito was playing the character who was known to train heroes and, it was Phil who taught Hercules to become a potential hero. The 1997 hit has proven to be a success even over 20 years on and is a film Danny should undoubtedly be proud to have been a part of.

Johnny Depp has had every type of role under the sun; he has played a pirate, an owner of a chocolate factory, and even a Mad Hatter, bringing comedic, entertaining and dark aspects to all his films. Johnny Depp seems to be a favorite of director Tim Burton’s, who has cast the talented actor in many of his movies. He was cast for the romantic dark fantasy of Edward Scissorhands, and later as Victor in Corpse Bride, both of which were nominated for Academy Awards.

Anna Faris is well-known for starring in comedy hits such as the Scary Movie films, The Hot Chick, and Just Friends, where she played Samantha James. Meanwhile, Frais has also lent her voice for animation films. In the years 2009-13, Frais voiced the role of Samantha Sparks in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs franchise, and later the Emoji Movie. Since 2013, Frais has starred in the television series Mom which has won her three People’s Choice Award nominations.

He is known for speaking to animals if the Dr. Dolittle franchise, but this time around, Eddie Murphy was voicing one of the animal’s himself. In the film, Mulan, Murphy took on the role as the little, red dragon, Mushu, who acts as Mulan’s guardian and guide. The father of nine was also part of the production for the animation of Shrek and is best-known for his roles in Coming to America, The Nutty Professor, and its sequel, and Daddy Day Care.

Puss in Boots first originated in a European fairy tale in 1967 but rose to prominence once again in 2004 when he starred in Shrek 2. This time around, Antonio Banderas voiced the character in the film, and again in the follow-up spin-off appropriately titled, Puss in Boots. The film followed the character on his adventures before his appearance in Shrek 2 when he was pitted against Jack and Jill. The film was a huge success and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 84th Academy Awards.

He played the role of Sheriff Woody from the first installment of Pixar’s Toy Story franchise, and Tom Hanks is set to reprise his lead role for Toy Story 4 when it is released in June 2019. Meanwhile, Hanks is the fourth highest-grossing actor in North America having starred in hit films such as Forrest Gump, Big, Philadelphia, Saving Private Ryan, and Catch Me If You Can. the Academy Award winner also received a Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Barack Obama and a French Legion of Honor.

A year after lending his voice to The Emperor’s New Groove, John Goodman was brought on board for the film, Monster’s, Inc. The film was a box office success after its release in November 2001 and became the third highest-grossing film of that year. The prequel to the film, Monsters University, was released 12 years after the original in 2013, with John Goodman reprising his role of James P. Sullivan, aka, Sully. Having grossed $774 million, it became the seventh highest-grossing film of 2013.

Scar is perhaps one of the most hated animated characters to have ever lived. After all, the moment he lets go of Mufasa, which resulted in his eventual death, is one of the most heartbreaking moments in Disney’s history. However, we can’t blame Jeremy Irons for wanting to be a part of the phenomenon that is The Lion King, and we support his decision for playing this worldwide villain. Meanwhile, he has acted in another tragedy on stage, being Macbeth, as well as, the comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.

In 2008, Jim Carrey was chosen to play the voice of the beloved elephant, Horton in the Dr. Seuss feature film adaptation of Horton Hears A Who! The film was a box office success, just like many of Carrey’s movies. The Canadian-American actor has starred in films such as Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Bruce Almighty, The Truman Show, and Man on the Moon, for which the final two earned him a Golden Globe Award.

Adam Sandler voiced the lead role of Dracula in Hotel Transylvania from the first installment in 2012. The second film was released in 2015, and Sandler is reprising his role for the third time in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation this year. Meanwhile, Sandler is no stranger to the silver screen and has starred in box office hits such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, and The Meyerowitz Stories. The latter was of a more dramatic territory which differs to the usual comedies Sandler stars in.

Playing the lead role of Garfield in Garfield: The Movie, is actor and comedian, Bill Murray. Having first gained exposure on Saturday Night Live, Murray has since become an Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner, as well as, an Academy Award nominee. His film resume includes Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, and Hyde Park on Hudson. As well as starring in films, he co-directed Quick Change in 1990 and, while he is known for his comedic values, he is best-known for his deadpan delivery.

He may be best-known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars film series, but Mark Hamill took on the voice work for the Batman’s archenemy, the Joker, in Batman: The Animated Series in 1992. The animated series was won with high praise, and TV Guide ranked it the seventh Greatest Cartoon of All Time. The series also won four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Animated Program, and IGN.com listed Batman: The Animated Series the best comic book television show of all time.

While Thompson’s only credit in 2002 was playing Captain Amelia in Disney’s Treasure Planet, she may have wished she never took on the role. The adaptation of Treasure Island ended up being a “box office disaster” since it earned far less than its large budget. However, Thompson made a great comeback a year later when she starred in the romantic comedy, Love Actually. Her other box office hits include Nanny McPhee and Saving Mr. Banks and, regardless of Treasure Planet, Thompson is considered one of Britain’s most acclaimed actresses.

Hugh Jackman’s voice-over work includes playing the Emperor penguin, Memphis, in Happy Feet, and as Roddy the rat in Flushed Away. Jackman starred alongside Kate Winslet and Ian McKellen in the film, but it happened to underperform in the box office. Meanwhile, Jackman is best-known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series and recently starred in the musical The Greatest Showman which was a huge success. Moreover, his role in the film adaptation of Les Misérables earned him his first Academy Award nomination.

Nathan Lane is an award-winning American actor and writer, who has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame. His film repertoire includes playing the voice of Snowbell in Stuart Little and the well-known character of Timon from The Lion King. Lane reprised the role of the meerkat in all of the film’s sequels. Meanwhile, Lane has also starred in hit television series such as Modern Family and The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story,

Since 1989, Hank Azaria has played the role of Mow Szyslak in the animated television sitcom, The Simpsons. Upon joining the show, Azaria had had little voice acting experience, but he was still chosen to become a series regular from the second season. He has since voiced the roles of Moreover, Azaria also voices the characters Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Chief Wiggum, Comic Book Guy, Carl Carlson and numerous others in the show. Meanwhile, Azaria became widely known from his appearances in The Birdcage, Godzilla, Along Came Polly, and Friends.

Playing the role of Gru’s elderly gadget man and a friendly scientist, Dr. Nefario, in Despicable Me, is British comedian Russell Brand. Since its release in 2010, the film has become a commercial success, which resulted in the Despicable Me franchise series of movies, and the prequel, Minions, which was released in 2015. Meanwhile, Brand landed a major role in 2008 when he was cast to star in the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall and starred in the spin-off rock comedy, Get Him To The Greek.

With a career that has spanned over 60 years, James Earl Jones is described as “one of America’s most distinguished and versatile” actors, as well as, “one of the greatest actors in American history.” Jones is known for his voice role as Darth Vader in the Star Wars film series, and is said to possess “one of the best-known voices in show business, a stirring basso profondo that has lent gravel and gravitas.” Unsurprising, therefore, that he was chosen for the role of Mufasa in The Lion King.

When Tarzan premiered in the United States in 1999, it was the most expensive animated film ever made with a budget of $130 million. Fortunately for production, the film grossed $448.2 million worldwide and became the first Disney animated feature to open at first place at the North American box office since the release of Pocahontas in 1995. Rosie O’Donnell played the role of Turk in the film, and she is well-known having hosted her own show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show.

The Iron Giant premiered in July 1999 but, with a budget of $7-80 million, the film significantly underperformed having only made $31.3 million. Nevertheless, the film received critical acclaim for the voice performances of the characters in the movie, including that of Vin Diesel who played the title character. Having gone on to win nine Annie Awards out of 15 nominations, and through the release of home videos, the film gathered a cult following and is now considered to be a modern animated classic.

Starring alongside John Goodman in the animation hit, The Emperor’s New Groove, was David Spade, who voiced the role of Kuzco. Following the release of the film, Spade reprised his role in its direct-to-video sequel, Kronk’s New Groove. Meanwhile, Spade is best known for being a comedic actor whose material in his roles rely mostly on sarcasm and self-deprecation. Spade has starred in films such as Tommy Boy, Joe Dirt, and Grown Ups, while also apart of two long-running sitcoms, Just Shoot Me! and Rules of Engagement.

It is hard not to recognize Will Smith’s voice straight away after we became so familiar with it on The French Prince of Bel-Air. However, since we are so used to seeing Will Smith’s face on-screen, we may mistake his voice as an animated fish for someone else. However, in 2004, Smith took on the lead role of Oscar in Shark Tale, who claimed to have killed the son of a shark mob boss, only to advance his own stance in the community.

Fans are used to seeing Justin Timberlake strut his dance moves on stage since becoming the lead singer of the boy band N’Sync in the early 2000’s. While the superstar first appeared in the spotlight when he was just a child in The Mickey Mouse Club, he has since been in a band, had a solo career and become an actor. Since his voice has won the hearts of millions over the years, he was chosen to take on the role of Boo Boo in the animation, Yogi Bear.

There is no missing Brad Pitt, for he has been a star credited actor in Hollywood, as well as, a man kind on the eyes. It seems only fitting that Pitt was given the role of retired superhero, Metro Man, in Megamind. While Brad is not the usual choice for voiceovers, since people want to see his face rather than hear his voice, it seems he just could not miss the opportunity of playing an alien refugee from the Glaupunk Quadrant.

At just 14-years-old, Mila Kunis won her first major television role when she was cast to play Jackie Burkhart on That 70’s Show. Just one year later, she was cast to voice the role of Meg Griffin on the animated series, Family Guy, and has been doing so ever since! In the meantime, you may have seen Mila on films such as Friends With Benefits, Bad Moms, and Black Swan, or perhaps seen that she married her That 70’s Show co-star, Ashton Kutcher.

The animated character of Carl Fredricksen in the Pixar film, Up, won the hearts of millions around the world when it was released in 2009. Voicing this loveable character was none other than his real-life lookalike, Ed Asner. As the most honored male performer in the history of the Primetime Emmery Awards, with an incredible seven wins, Ed Asner has earned his status as a Hollywood legend and proved it once again with Up. The film itself was honored with an incredible five Academy Award nominations.

John Goodman may not be going through the happiest of times following recent television drama with Roseanne, but at least he got to be part of The Emperor’s New Groove’s cast. The 2000 adventure animation featured the good-hearted peasant named Pacha, and Goodman successfully took on this role in the film. While the film initially performed disappointingly in theatre’s compared to other Disney films at that time following its release, it garnered huge success in home media and became the top-selling release of 2011.

In 2013, Walt Disney Pictures released yet another classic with Frozen, where the lead role of the fearless princess, Elsa, was voiced by Broadway star and actress Idina Menzel. Frozen has since become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and two Grammy Awards. Many of these awards were for Best Original Song for “Let It Go” which Menzel sang herself. The hit song became so popular that it reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

His character of Homer Simpson is known worldwide thanks to the huge success of The Simpsons since its release in 1989. Meanwhile, the voice behind the popular character is Dan Castellaneta, who also voices other characters such as Abraham “Grampa” Simpson, Barney Gumble, Krusty the Clown, Sideshow Mel, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, and Hans Moleman. While Castellaneta has been with the show for over three decades, he has also worked on shows such as Futurama, Back to the Future: The Animated Series, and Hey Arnold!

Not many people can say that their mom is the voice behind Princess Ariel from The Little Mermaid, that is, other than Jodi Benson’s two children. The American voice actress provided both the speaking and singing for the animated character in the film’s sequel, prequel, and television series spinoff. Meanwhile, she also voiced the role of Barbie in Toy Story 2 and its sequel, Toy Story 3, as well as in the Toy Story cartoon Hawaii Vacation. For her contribution to Disney, in 2011, Benson was named a Disney Legend.

Christian Bale may be best-known for playing the lead role of Batman in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises but, aside from starring in the eighth highest-grossing film series of all time, he voiced the character of Thomas in Pocahontas. Since this role in 1995, he has become an Academy Award-winning actor, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe Award nominee. Since his debut role in 1986, Bale has undoubtedly become a well-known name in Hollywood.

Actress and comedian Nancy Cartwright is the voice behind the animated character Bart Simpson from The Simpsons. While being a part of the long-running sitcom, Nancy has also voiced characters Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, Kearney, and Database. However, when Nancy first went to audition for a role on the show, she had intended to audition for Bart’s younger sister, Lisa Simpson. It was only when she got to the audition and found the role of Bart, that she believed that this was a more exciting role.

In 1992, Scott Weinger made his motion-picture debut as the voice of the title character in Disney’s Aladdin. The film was a huge success, winning two Academy Awards, having two direct-to-video sequels, a television series of the same name, and a video games series, in all of which Scott voiced the character of Aladdin. Meanwhile, Scott was the co-executive producer of ABC’s The Muppets and may be a familiar face having starred in ABC’s sitcom, Full House and, more recently, its Netflix sequel, Fuller House.

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury is a 92-year-old actress, whose career has spanned over seven decades. The Oscar-nominated actress has won international fame after having lead roles on stage, film, and television, and moved over to voice work when she voiced the role of Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast. At the 64th Academy Awards, the animation became the first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, and it became the first animation to be adapted into a Broadway musical.

Since Disney released Finding Nemo in 2003, it has become one of the greatest animations in Disney’s history. The tale of an overprotective clownfish looking for his missing son Nemo managed to tug the hearts of many and even led to the sequel, Finding Dory. Nemo, who gets abducted by a scuba diver early on in the film, is voiced by Alexander Gould. Gould also voiced the role of Bambi in the 2006 film, Bambi II, but is recognizable for his role of Shane Botwin in Showtime’s series, Weeds.

Before The Simpsons came The Flintstones, which held the title of being the most financially successful network animated franchise for three decades. Playing the original voice of Fred Flintstone was actor Alan Reed, who would go by two different names in accordance to the role he was playing. He was Alan Reed for more comedic roles, but Teddy Bergman for more serious ones. The late actor is best known for his roles in films such as Days of Glory, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and The Tarnished Angels.

Late actor George Samuel O’Hanlon was an American actor, comedian, writer, director, and voice actor. He played the original voice of George Jetson in the 1962 prime-time animated television series, The Jetsons, as well as its revival in 1985 for three movies. Meanwhile, O’Hanlon was best known for his role as the title character in the Warner Bros. live-action Joe McDoakes from 1942 to 1956. During his career, O’Hanlon also starred in I Love Lucy, How to Marry a Millionaire, The Reporter, and The Partridge Family.

She is perhaps best recognizable for playing Peggy Bundy on Married… with Children, but Katey Sagal is also the voice behind Leela on the long-running animated sitcom, Futurama. From 1998-2013, Sagal lent her voice for the purple-haired mutant spaceship captain, making it her longest-running role on television. In 2002, Sagal was cast alongside Kaley Cuoco in 8 Simple Rules, where she played the blonde beauty’s mother. In 2016, Sagal was cast to play Cuoco’s mother once again in The Big Bang Theory.

Fans of Toy Story are certainly waiting in anticipation for the release of the fourth film to the franchise, when Woody, Jesse, and Buzz Lightyear will reunite on our screens once again. While Woody was not best pleased when Buzz first appeared in Andy’s room, the two soon became best buds, and two of our favorite animated characters to date. Home Improvement star, Tim Allen was first cast in 1995 to play Buzz, and we can’t wait to hear him on the big screen once again next year.

Although Jaleel White has certainly grown into himself over the years, you still may recognize him as the meddling nerd yet endearing neighbor, Steve Urkel on the hit television sitcom Family Matters. Little did you probably know, though, that White kept himself busy with a few different acting jobs during his time on the show. In fact, he voiced Sonic the Hedgehog for the 1993 animated series when he was just 16 years old and would later go on to reprise the role for Sonic Underground in 1999.

This may come as a bit of a shocker but Black Eyed Peas singer-songwriter Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson was a child star before jumping into a music career. In fact, she appeared on the Disney Channel’s Kids Incorporated and was even the voice of Sally Brown — Charlie Brown’s kid sister — on three Peanuts animated television specials produced during the 1980s. Considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, there’s no denying that Orson Welles’ veins basically coursed with talent. He was an American actor, director, writer, and producer. Naturally, most of us automatically connect Welles’ name to Citizen Kane although his career continued to soar after the release of what’s consistently ranked as the greatest film ever. Welles’ last role was actually just months before his death in 1985 when he did voice-work for Transformers: The Movie (1986). He played the villain Unicron, a planet-sized Transformer hell-bent on ultimate power.

Before she became known as the narcissistic and manipulative Bluth Family matriarch — Lucille Bluth — on Arrested Development, actress Jessica Walter kept herself busy with plenty of other acting jobs. After getting her start on stage, Walter moved over to television, becoming a regular for the first half of season one of 90210. She’s also known for her film work in movies such as Play Misty for Me and Grand Prix. What you may have not known, though, is that Walter actually provided the voice of Fran Sinclair in the ’90s television sitcom Dinosaurs! Talk about a major throwback…

Speaking of Arrested Development — get ready for another throwback, people! Before he landed the role of George Michael Bluth on the hit sitcom, Canadian actor Michael Cera actually had the pleasure of voicing Brother Bear on The Berenstain Bears — a children’s television series on PBS Kids — for three seasons. Cera continued to voice the anthropomorphic bear while starring in Arrested Development through 2005. It would only be just a couple of years later that Cera would gain wider recognition for his portrayal of Paulie Bleeker in the coming-of-age independent film Juno.

A Hollywood favorite, Meg Ryan is an actress and producer who first gained recognition for supporting roles in films including Top Gun and Promised Land. It wasn’t until 1989, though, that she became an award-winning actress for her performance in the Rob Reiner-directed romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally. Although audiences know Ryan for her roles in romantic comedies, she also happened to voice the Eco-Villain Dr. Blight during the first season of Captain Planet and the Planeteers. After leaving the environmentally-minded animated series, Ryan went on to star in movies like Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail.

We all fell in love with him as Uncle Phil on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but before James Avery landed that role on the wildly popular NBC sitcom, the actor supplied the voice for Shredder on the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. It turns out that Avery voiced the villain throughout the entire run of the show, from 1987 to 1993. He also played the role on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made-for-TV movie in 1991.
