Holmes also promised $1-2 million to her pastor, so he could develop a retreat center. She did pay out $700,000 dollars to him, but the pastor was unsatisfied and sued her for $10 million.

Bud Post was lucky enough to win $16 million, but the luck ended there. First, his brother hired a hitman to take out him and his wife. Then, his landlord used the court system to finagle her way into taking a portion of the winnings. During the litigation, the judge stopped his annuity payments, so he became essentially broke. Post was convicted of a jail sentence for assault, after he fired a bullet at a debt collector coming to take his money. Soon after, he died of respiratory failure.
